Healing

butterfly

A few years ago I woke up and couldn't move my neck. It was a cold October morning and with difficulty I drove to the doctor. The diagnosis was a "rye neck" and I was advised to wear a scarf and keep warm.

Following my inner knowingness, I telephoned a neighbour who my parents had visited for healing. After a thirty minute healing session, my neck had returned to normal and I could move without pain.

The lady also informed me that I too could heal. I found this amusing as my father had always been told this. But, me? No..... Nevertheless, this was the beginning of my spiritual awakening. It was the "nudge" which started an adventurous self-development journey of healing.

So what is healing?

Healing lies outside the field of orthodox medicine. It has been practiced for thousands of years in many communities and countries.

Healing can take many forms. It may be that the person simply wishes to talk about problems that affect their life. Or it may be that there is a physical condition which may have underlying causes such as unresolved conflict, guilt, stress, negative thinking etc. If these are not resolved, the effect of the healing may only be temporary.

The aim is to try and restore harmony of mind, body and spirit. All types of ill-health may be helped through healing. Dis-ease causes disease.

Purpose of healing

Healing brings harmony to the spirit, mind and body of the patient; it is not limited to effecting merely a physical improvement.

Attitude of clients

Clients are not required to have faith nor to accept any particular religious belief. It does, however, help the healing process if the patient has an open mind, and approaches the treatment with a positive and expectant attitude. But nevertheless, animals - who have no preconceptions - respond amazingly well to healing.

Relationship to orthodox medical treatment

Healing does not interfere in any way with orthodox medical treatment and patients should continue to consult their doctor. If they inform him/her that they are receiving healing they should stress that it is complementary to the medical treatment, not an alternative to it.

Cost
